Privacy Policy

This is a personal and non-commercial website operated by me. I do not offer the creation of user accounts, I do not sell goods, I don't run advertising or marketing on here. This privacy policy explains what data is still collected in order to ensure the functionality of the website.

What is collected

Server access logs

As most websites, this website, more specifically the reverse proxy (Caddy), that is put before the server, records access logs containing the following data:

• IP address
• Request timestamp
• Requested URL/path and HTTP method
• HTTP status code and response time
• User-Agent string (browser/OS information)
• TLS connection details

This is standard web server behavior, and not specifically configured in order to identify ors track users. Request bodies (form inputs, chat messages, and the likes) are never included in the logs.

Purpose:

Operating the website securely, diagnosing and fixing faults and detecting abuse or attacks. This is processed under legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No consent is requested for this because the service cannot function without it and no separate marketing or profiling use is made of it.

Retention:

The logs are kept for 4 weeks and then automatically deleted.

Cookies

This site doesn't set cookies of any kind.

Third party services

This website doesn't make any requests to external servers. No fonts, scripts, analytics, or advertising services are loaded by this site. Your browser does not send any data to a third party by visiting this page. One exception:

Hosting:

This site runs on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Oracle may retain Infrastructure level network/audit logs about network flow independently of this application, under Oracle's own privacy terms.

Accounts

There is no login or account system. No account data of any kind is collected.

Blog posts / images

The content I publish on this site is hosted on the site. No personal data is collected from you by viewing it.

Your rights

You have rights regarding the data collected on you:

• Access — ask what data, if any, is held about you
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion, subject to legitimate interest in keeping short-term security logs
• Restriction and objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Data portability — for any data you've directly provided (not applicable here, as none is provided)
• Complaint — you may lodge a complaint with the Austrian data protection authority:

Children's privacy

This website is not directed at children and does not ask for, or knowingly collect, any personal information (such as name, email, date of birth) from anyone. The only data generated by visiting this page is anonymous technical logs as described above. These logs are collected of every visitor regardless of age and are not used to identify or profile anyone.

Changes to this policy

If what the site collects changes, these changes will be reflected in this policy and the "Last updated" date will be updated accordingly.
